Saturday 1st December – Coffee morning/open day at Vectis Radio from 10am -12pm.  Come along to Vectis Radio studio at the Riverside Centre and see how it all works.  Tea/coffee and biscuits supplied for a minimum £1 donation to keep the community radio station running.
                                       
Saturday 1st December – Charity Christmas Fair in the East Cowes Town Hall from 10am – 1pm.   Refreshments available.
                                                
Saturday 1st December – Wight Brainy Brunch Christmas Market at Ryde Fire Station from 10am – 4pm. Magical grotto, kids craft corner, inflatable snow globe, live entertainment, seasonal stalls, refreshments and much more.    Turning on of Ryde Fire’s Christmas Lights at 4pm
                                                             
Saturday 1st and Sunday 2nd December – Daisy Chains IW Christmas Fair at Lower Hyde Holiday Park, Landguard Manor Road, Shanklin from 11am – 3.30pm.   Christmas market, entertainment, characters, grotto and more.  Adults £1, kids go free.

Monday 3rd December - Isle of Wight Family History Society open meeting, everyone welcome.  The Royal Navy and the Royal Marines on the Isle of Wight a talk by Mike North at the Hunnyhill Room, Riverside Centre, The Quay, Newport PO30 2QR.  Doors open 7 pm talk starts 7.30 lasts about 45 minutes. Admission members of the Isle of Wight FHS - £1; non-members - £2

Tuesday 4th December - Christmas Coffee Morning at St. James Church Hall, Church Path, East Cowes at 10am.   For Christmas gifts and goodies ~ everyone most welcome. 

Thursday 6th – Saturday 8th December - Christmas Display at Cowes Methodist Church, Birmingham Road from 11am – 4pm including Lights of Love Service on Thursday 6th at 6.30pm

Thursday 6th December – Sunday 9th December – Brighstone Christmas Tree Festival from 10am – 5pm. Fun for all the family, lots to see and enjoy with over 200 beautiful “theme decorated” Christmas Trees on display in seven very different locations within Brighstone. The children’s trees are in the library and on the Saturday and Sunday you can see Santa in the Winter Wonderland at the Exchange in New Rd. Free admission to all concerts both during the festival and into the following week (all in the Parish Church set against the backdrop of all the trees). There will be a myriad of attractions to entertain you and put you in the festive mood and it’s all FREE. Carol singing, Hand bell ringing, Craft Fairs, Mini Market at the weekend, Lace making demonstrations, Cake and Biscuit Raffles, The Winter Wonderland Snow Grotto with Santa and free family photo opportunities, Daily Refreshments available to purchase, A FREE Park and Ride will operate from the Isle of Wight Pearl on the Military Rd into Brighstone village with a further Free shuttle service to Mottistone and back. Thursday 6th – Sunday 10th December - Christmas Tree Festival will be held at Shanklin Methodist Church (Regent Street).  There will be a Christmas Fayre in the church hall on Saturday 8th December 10 am till 12 noon.

Thursday 6th December – Ryde Xmas Late Night Shopping from 5pm – 9pm.  With a great selection of shops, Ryde has something for everyone...and the best bit?... for this evening our local businesses are putting on special offers, and great deals, to bring you that extra Christmas cheer.  There will be street entertainment, some special guests, and lots of festive food and drink available.

Thursday 6th December – RNLI Christmas Spectacular at The George, Yarmouth from 11am – 4pm.    Raffle, craft stalls, carol singers, mince pies, cakes, biscuits.  Raffle will take place approx 1.30pm.  Raffle tickets available from The George Hotel and RNLI Yarmouth Shop.

 

Thursday 6th December – Sandown High Street Late Night Opening and Busking Competition. From 6pm with Buskers positioned along the High Street performing for your entertainment. Voting Cards will be available in the Town for you to choose your favourite.  Loads of shops, cafes, restaurants and pubs are supporting this event, so please turn up and bring plenty of change for the buskers.


Friday 7th December – Whippingham Community Association invite you to join our Christmas Celebration Carols and more at Whippingham Community Centre from 6.30pm.   Refreshments available.  Ticket only for free admission.  Tickets available from Alison on 295122 or Dawn 07717 018131 or at the Community Centre Post Office on Tuesdays from 2-4pm.

Friday 7th December - The East Cowes Evangelical Church, Clarence Road, East Cowes, Clarries Club for seniors, warmly welcome you to hear Brian Greening with his old friend Bill Shepherd with more nostalgic yarns and photos. Saturday 8th December – Godshill Christmas Market from 11am – 4pm.   Craft stalls, mulled wine and mince pies, refreshments, raffle, Santa’s grotto, entertainment, treasure hunt and so much more.   All funds raised will be split between kissypuppy. Godshill Village Hall and the IOW Radio Christmas Toy Appeal.

Saturday 8th and Sunday 9th December – Rylstone Tea Gardens Christmas Market from 10.30am – 4pm.  Join us for our 4th Annual Christmas Market – Craft stalls, Christmas crazy golf tournament, hot food and drinks, mulled wine.  Dogs on leads welcome.

Saturday 8th December – Riverside Christmas Fair at Riverside, The Quay, Newport from 11am – 4pm.   Free Entry.  Inflatable snow globe, gifts, crafts, Santa’s grotto, carol singing, face painting, refreshments and  meet Enchanted Isle characters.

Saturday 8th December – Sandown Railway Enthusiasts Club present their Winter Model Show at Lions Community Centre, Lake from 10am – 4pm.   At least 8 working layouts expected, plus static displays and trade stalls.  Tickets £3 and accompanied children free.    Wheelchair accessible.

Sunday 9th December – Christmas Holiday Fundraiser in aid of Teenage Cancer Trust at the Car park Aldi Lake, Sptihead Business Centre from 4pm – 6pm.   Free entry and all donation towards TCT. Santa’s grotto, bouncy castle, ginergbred decorating, craft wreath making, cake sale, raffle and much more.

Sunday 9th December – Carol Service amongst the Christmas Display at Cowes Methodist Church at 10.30am

Monday 10th December – Christmas Concert by the Cowes Concert Band at the Methodist Church, Adelaide Grove at 8pm.   There will be a retiring collection and a raffle in aid of the Wight Brainy Bunch and Band Funds.  Coffee and mince pies will be served on both occasions.

Tuesday 11th December - St. Mary's Church, Cowes is holding a Coffee Morning with mulled wine from 10 - 2 p.m. in the Parish Room.   All welcome. There will be a raffle and Christmas items on sale.

Friday 14th December - The East Cowes Evangelical Church, Clarence Road, East Cowes, Clarries Club for seniors, warmly welcome you to their Christmas Special. Entertainment by Friends in Harmony. Saturday 15th, Sunday 16th, Saturday 22nd, Sunday 23rd and Christmas Eve from 10am – 4pm – The Friends of Northwood Cemetery will again have a Tree of Remembrance in the East Chapel on which visitors can hang a decoration with their own message to loved ones no longer with us. Hot drinks will be served and there will also be some live seasonal music.  Alternatively decorations can be purchased in advance, for a minimum donation of £2, from the Heritage Resource Centre (the West Chapel) on Thursday and Friday mornings.

Saturday 15th December - Christmas Market at Waterside Pool, Esplanade, Ryde from 5.30pm – 8pm.   Santa’s grotto and Christmas photo booth, local produce, seasonal gifts, carol singers, face painting, hog roast, mulled wine.  Free entry.

Sunday 16th December – The Christmas Garden is back for a third year running to light up The Sandown Battery with festive spirit and fun for all the family. This completely free community event will celebrate one of The Bay’s most fascinating monuments and bring life to an often forgotten part of the Bay. This year, The Garden will again host fantastic illuminations, seasonal craft and decoration workshops, tree dressing as well as music performances from Vectis Brass and Medina Community Choir. In addition there will be atmospheric storytelling from Sue Bailey perfect for little ones and historical street performer Greg Chapman will be showcasing his many talents plus don’t forget to toast a marshmallow on the fire or dance in the snow.  All are welcome and entry is free from 4pm – 7pm - Wrap up warm.

Tuesday 18th December - Carisbrooke Castle “Museum Insights” 2pm – 4pm.  La Tour de Wight:  An illustrated tour of the Island in traditional music (c.1800 – 1970).  With Christmas approaching, Justin Smith and Virgil Philpott (aka ‘The Dollymopps’) introduce us to some of the most interesting characters they have encountered during a decade of researching the Island’s musical traditions.  Tickets £8 including tea, coffee and biscuits. Friday 21st December – Grand Christmas Raffle will be drawn at The Multiple Sclerosis Society in Regent Street, Shanklin at 3pm.   Lots of hampers and prizes to be won.  Tickets will be on sale from Friday 30th November and will be £1.00 a ticket. Monday 24th December - Christmas Eve Fun Day Sandown. Hullabaloo and Sandown Business Association have teamed up to bring you a fun filled Christmas Eve from 10.30am – 3.30pm.
