Sunday 1st March – Yaverland to Sandown Monthly Beach Clean from 11am – 1pm. Pick up your litter pickers and bag from Yaverland Car park and help us clean up our beautiful Marine Conservation Zone!

Friday 6th March -    Coffee Morning with a Theme between 10.30 and 12.30. Hosted by the Friends of Northwood Cemetery in the West Chapel at Northwood Cemetery. Hot and Cold Drinks plus Biscuits. Saturday 7th March – Vectis Radio Station Open Day from 10am to 12 midday at the studio based at the Riverside Centre, Newport.  Come and see how it all works behind the scenes, meet some of the presenters, have a cuppa and some cake.  All we ask is a minimum £1 donation to help keep your community radio station running.

Sunday 8th March - Antiques and Collectors Fair at Northwood House, Ward Avenue, Cowes in aid of Motor Neurone Disease (MND) Association - IOW Branch.  The Antiques Fair will be open from 10.30am-3.00pm selling a wide variety of goods including furniture, books, jewellery, silver, vintage items, garden antiques, china, glass and much more.  FREE valuations will kindly be provided by well-respected local valuer Tim Smith. Tuesday 10th March – Cowes Speak at The Anchor, 1-3 High Street, Cowes from 8pm – 11pm.  1st show of 2020!!! The Cowes Speak Comedy variety show is back with a fun mixture of comical fun and frolics.  We have Musical fun from your local weekly music man Chris Q Things, Music & Stuff, bringing back his blonde locks to serenade you all. Our regular magician extraordinaire, the officially 2nd best magician on the south coast, Huxley magic! And Spokenword from a wonderous word slinging Owl, the fantastic Superb Owl!  So come along and join us for a chaotic evening with your host Adam Gaterell Arts.

Wednesday 11th March - Whippingham Community Centre present a talk by Susan Weeks about the history of her home in Sandford. Thursday 12th March – World Café for Ryde from 6pm – 8pm at Ryde Castle Hotel. Sunday 15th March – Discovery Bay – British Science Week 2020 from 10.30am -3pm at Dinosaur Isle, Culver Parade, Sandown.   Celebrate British Science Week with a day of scientific discovery and natural history!  Drop-in laboratories and pop-up displays featuring natural wonders from pickled worms to pond life, moths, moss and poo. It’s free for all the family!  Find us upstairs in the Education Room at Dinosaur Isle, Culver Parade, Sandown PO36 8QA.   Please note though that normal fees apply for entry to the Dinosaur Isle museum downstairs.

Wednesday 18th March – Red Squirrels on the Isle of Wight.  A talk by Brenda Craddock from the Wight Squirrel Project at Freshwater Library.   Doors open 7pm for 7.30 start.   £3 admission shared between FOFL and Wight Squirrel Project.

Saturday 21st March – Spring Craft and Gift Fayre at Newport Minster, St Thomas’ Square, Newport from 10-am – 2.30pm.  Local people, local handmade crafts. Stalls include:  Handmade jewellery

Friday 27th March - Illustrated talk by Prof Andrew Bradstock on former Bishop of Liverpool David Sheppard, the subject of his recent biography. Last Thursday of the month - The Newport Alzheimer Cafe  meet from 6pm – 8.30pm at the Church Hall of St John’s Church, on the corner of Terrace Road and Drake Road (opposite the former Nodehill School).  An Alzheimer Café is a meeting place giving information educational advice and guidance to people with dementia, their families, carers, professionals and to people with an interest in dementia.   Newcomers very welcome, no need to book just come along.   For further information and transport call 01983 220200

Second Thursday of every month – ‘Our Space’ drop-in at East Cowes Town Hall from 12pm to 2pm.   Co-ordinated by Churches Together in East Cowes & Whippingham.   This event is attended by agencies such as Community Spirited, Sight for Wight, Stroke Association, health centre and police who are on hand to offer advice and assistance where needed.  There are free refreshments, soup and bread for lunch or hot drink and biscuits available.

First Friday of every month – Ryde Alzheimer Cafe meet at All Saints Church, Queens Road, Ryde between 11.30 am- 2 pm. The venue is the church hall attached to the magnificent All Saints Church (the one with the big spire).  An informal, supportive and friendly atmosphere for people whose lives have been affected by dementia.  Newcomers Very Welcome!

Every Friday from 10am – 12pm – Weekly Drop in at Downside Community Centre, Furrlongs, Newport.    Help and information with finding local activities, debt, education, employment, forms and applications, finance, housing, jobs, health and getting involved in the community.   Everybody is welcome.  This is a free, confidential and friendly session.

First Saturday of every month at Bembridge Friendship Circle meet at the Village Hall from 10am – 12pm.  Book Sale, bric-a-brac, raffle, tea/coffee/hot chocolate and cakes. Come along and support this event and all proceeds to towards the community bus.

Every Sunday (6-7pm) Mindfulness Practice Group in Freshwater Bay. This space is open to all curious hearts and minds. Mindfulness is a way of taking charge of your life. It has the potential that can work consciously with your own stress, pain, illness, and the challenges and demands of everyday life. Suggested donation £ 5. Further details:
